Erika True Named Indiana State Head Women's Soccer Coach
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? Indiana State University Director of Athletics Ron Prettyman announced today, February 10, the hiring of Erika True as head women's soccer coach. True comes to Indiana State after spending four seasons as the assistant coach at Indiana.

UNI Tabs Price as Women's Soccer Coach
James Price has been named the women's soccer coach at the University of Northern Iowa, athletics director Troy Dannen announced today. Before joining the Panthers, Price spent 11 years as the head coach at Liberty University. After resigning from Liberty in 2008, Price spent the last season as the technical director for the Soccer Organization of Charlottesville Albemarle.

2008 Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team
Evansville's Kayla Lambert, an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American, highlights this year's Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete First Team. She and teammate Julie Winkler earned selection to the league's first-team scholar-athlete unit for a third-straight season. Only one other student-athlete was a repeat first-team honoree - Marcy Gans of Creighton.

UE's Lambert Earns Academic All-America Honor
Evansville senior Kayla Lambert has been chosen for the Academic All-America Team, becoming the 33rd University of Evansville student-athlete to earn the official Academic All-America title. She was a third team selection on what is officially known as the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team, chosen by CoSIDA.

Aces to Play at Missouri in NCAA Women's Soccer Championship
Big 12 Tournament champ Missouri will host the University of Evansville Friday in the first round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. Illinois faces Memphis in the other half of Friday's doubleheader, and the winners meet Sunday in round two. The Evansville-Missouri match will take place at 7 pm CT at Walton Stadium in Colubmia, Mo.

For the sixth time in school history -- and the most ever in conference history -- the Evansville Purple Aces are league tournament champs. The Aces beat Indiana State, 2-0, in the title game of the 2008 State Farm MVC Championship and will represent the Valley in the NCAA Championship next week.

2008 Women's Soccer All-Conference Team
 OMAHA, NEB. -- Evansville's Kayla Lambert, the all-time leading scorer in Missouri Valley Conference women's soccer history, has been named the league's 2008 Player of the Year by a vote of league coaches. Lambert enters the State Farm MVC Tournament with 127 career points. She ranks second in the league this year with 31 points, which includes seven assists and 12 goals, three of which were game-winners.

The 2008 State Farm MVC Women's Soccer Championship begins Wednesday as No. 3 Drake plays No. 6 Indiana State in the event's first match at 5 p.m. CT. Host Creighton faces No. 4 seed Missouri State on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Evansville and Illinois State shared the regular-season title and have earned first-round tournament byes and will play Friday evening.

Illinois State Earns Share of Regular-Season Crown; Evansville Claims Tournament's #1 Seed
Ammanda Wisniewski provided all the scoring Illinois State needed to top Drake, 1-0, in the regular-season finale Saturday afternoon. With the win, ISU clinched a share of the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title with Evansville and earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming State Farm MVC Tournament. Evansville received the No. 1 seed. Both teams receive a bye to the semifinals of the State Farm MVC Tournament (Nov. 5-7-9) in Omaha, Neb.

Bears Blank Sycamores, Claim No. 4 Seed

Evansville senior Rocky Hearst went into Saturday afternoon's crucial Missouri Valley Conference soccer match against Creighton with four career goals. In two hours, she doubled her career total. And most importantly for UE, the Aces came home with at least a share of the MVC regular season championship, their first since 2000. UE beat Creighton, 5-2, on Saturday.

Drake Falls to No. 15 Colorado in Women's Soccer on Friday
DES MOINES, IOWA -- Gianna DeSaverio scored two goals as No. 15 ranked Colorado snapped a six-game winning streak by the Drake women's soccer team with a 3-0 victory Friday at Drake Stadium. DeSaverio gave the Buffaloes a 1-0 lead with a goal at the 9:18 mark and then rounded out the scoring in the 55th minute.

Indiana State Women's Soccer Helps Flood Victims Move Back Into Homes
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? The Terre Haute flood of '08 happened nearly four months ago yet there are still hundreds of people who haven't been able to move back into their flood-damaged homes. This past Sunday, September 27, the Indiana State soccer team worked for hours on one particular home that is now almost ready for the family to return to because of their efforts.

Bruce Erickson claimed his 100th win as Creighton head coach as the Bluejays were a shutout winner over Drake in the conference opener for both teams. All-conference player Marcy Gans netted both CU goals, her 32nd and 33rd career goals, to establish a new school record. UNI and Missouri State were also winners on Sunday, picking up non-conference wins over North Dakota State and SIU-Edwardsville, respectively.

The last Valley team to start a season 4-0-0 was Northern Iowa, in 2003. Illinois State's 7-0-0 start in 2002 marks the last time a league team won more than four in a row to start a season.
