2006 State Farm MVC Women's Soccer Championship

Melissa Nelson's goal at the 95th minute lifted the Drake women's soccer team to a 1-0 overtime victory past Evansville in the championship of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Sunday, propelling the Bulldogs to their first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Nelson, a senior forward from Duluth, Minn., received a feed from junior forward Sarah Foote, connecting on the game winning shot from 10 yards out on the left wing.

Nelson was named the most valuable player of the MVC Tournament.
