Valley Announces 2011 Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team
Twelve student-athletes were named to the 2011 Missouri Valley Conference women's soccer scholar-athlete team, as announced by the conference office today. Missouri State tallied the most representatives on the team, with four first-team picks, followed by Illinois State with three. Eight first-team honorees maintain a grade point average above a 3.8, with Anna Stinson of Illinois State and Stephanie Thompson of Evansville, both majoring in Exercise Science, maintaining a flawless 4.0 grade point average. Six members also represent repeat selections to the first-team unit.

Redbirds Fall at Milwaukee in NCAA Opening Round
The Illinois State soccer team's record-breaking season came to an end with a 3-0 loss to No. 15 Milwaukee Saturday evening at Engelmann Stadium in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers limited ISU to just five shots on goal, as the Redbirds were shutout for just the fourth time this season.

Capital One Academic All-District ® Women’s Soccer Teams Released
The 2011 Capital One Academic All-District ® Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Seven student-athletes from the Missouri Valley Conference have been honored.

Illinois State, Missouri State Advance to MVC Title Game
The two top seeds will meet in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship title match Sunday, as No. 1 Illinois State defeated Evansville 6-0 and No. 2 Missouri State defeated Northern Iowa in the semifinal matches Friday at the Cooper Family Soccer Plex.
