Silvey has a championship pedigree and helped get the Illinois State soccer program back to the NCAA Tournament in 2016, and he will look to continue that success at Illinois State in his new role as the head coach of the Redbird soccer program.
Illinois State soccer’s historic season came to a close Friday night with a 3-1 loss to Duke University. ISU concluded the season with the longest unbeaten streak in program history with 15 games, but fell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Eighteen student-athletes have earned a spot on the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference women’s soccer scholar-athlete teams, as announced by the league office today. Ten of those 18 student-athletes have a 3.90 cumulative GPA or better.
