ST. LOUIS -- Each week, the Missouri Valley Conference will provide an update on the top Jackie Stiles Trophy candidates from MVC schools. This week's update is through games of Feb. 13.
The Larry Bird and Jackie Stiles Trophies are given annually to the Missouri Valley Conference's top performing male and female basketball student-athletes. A vote of league coaches, sports information directors and a media panel determine the winners -- who are announced prior to the MVC Tournaments in March. Emerson, a St. Louis-based global technology leader, is the presenting sponsor of the Larry Bird and Jackie Stiles Trophies.
The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer, Jackie Stiles is one of the most decorated women’s basketball student-athletes in Missouri Valley Conference history. Stiles was named to the 2001 Kodak All-America First Team, the Associated Press All-America First Team and was named Women’s Basketball News Service Player of the Year. A four-time Missouri Valley Conference first team selection, Stiles earned MVC Player of the Year honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. Stiles, who ended her collegiate career with 3,393 points, broke the women’s NCAA all-time scoring record while helping lead Missouri State to the 2001 NCAA Final Four.
Emerson is proud to support the communities in which we live and the academic achievement of today's generation. As the presenting partner of the Larry Bird and Jackie Stiles Trophies, Emerson is proud of the MVC student-athletes' on- and off-court achievements and supports the development of tomorrow's leaders. Join us in honoring those who achieve. Emerson. Consider it Solved.
