Women's Basketball Player/Newcomer of the Week (Nov. 14)
Creighton’s Sarah Nelson led the Bluejays in scoring, field goals, field goal percentage, rebounds, blocked shots and steals through her first two games, en route to the league's first State Farm Player of the Week honoree in 2011-12. Illinois State’s Maddie Oliver registered 14 points, on seven-of-eight shooting, and added five rebounds and two blocks to capture the conference's initial Newcomer of the Week honor.

Creighton Athletics Earns Fifth Straight MVC All-Academic Award
For the seventh time in the nine-year existence of the award, Creighton University has been recognized with the Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic Award. Bluejay student-athletes posted a 3.33 cumulative grade-point average over the 2010-11 academic calendar.

Missouri Valley Conference Signs Five-Year Agreement With ESPN
The Missouri Valley Conference has entered into a new five-year agreement with ESPN that will feature an expanded number of national appearances across ESPN’s networks. The agreement with ESPN extends through the 2015-16 academic year and annually provides a minimum of 40 national appearances for Valley teams on ESPN platforms.
