Volleyball Championship: Wichita State 3, Indiana State 0

Third-seeded Wichita State topped No. 6 seed Indiana State in the first quarterfinal match of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Championship on Thursday night at the McLeod Center. Scores of the match in favor of the Shockers were 25-16, 25-15 and 25-16. With the victory, Wichita State improves to 20-9 on the season and advances to tomorrow evening's 5 PM semifinal against second-seeded Missouri State.

Senior first-team All-MVC selection Camri Zwiesler led Wichita State with 11 kills in the match and also led the Shockers with 18 digs.  Fellow first-teamer junior Emily Adney added nine kills, and sophomores Elizabeth Field and Sam Sanders chipped in with eight kills apiece.

Sophomore Monique Morris led the Sycamores with eight kills on the night.  Juniors Morgan Dall and Shea Doran chipped in with seven kills
and six kills, respectively, for Indiana State.

Shocker sophomore Ashley Andrade notched four service aces in the match.  Three different Shockers tallied four blocks.

Wichita State posted a .294 hitting percentage to Indiana State's mark of .044.

The Shockers never trailed in the second or third set en route to the 3-0 sweep.

No. 3 seed Wichita State will face off with the No. 2-seeded Missouri State Bears in the semifinals on Friday at 5:00 p.m. in the McLeod Center.
