Valley Announces All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete Honors

ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Valley Conference has announced the 2013 Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete recipients following the 2013 MVC Championship hosted by Drake in Des Moines, Iowa, the weekend of May 10-12.

Greggmar Swift of Indiana State and Sade Sealy of Illinois State took home the Missouri Valley Conference Outstanding Track Athlete honors following the championship while Tim Glover of Illinois State and Felicia Johnson of Indiana State received Outstanding Field Athlete of the week honors for the 2013 season.

Indiana State's Maurice Lyke, Wichita State's Tomas Cotter, and Wichita State's Tanya Friesen were named the Missouri Valley Conference Most Valuable Athletes for the 2013 season following stand-out performances at the conference championship. 

Thirty-seven men and 46 women were named to this year’s Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team. This honor is given to student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.2 GPA, are at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing, and placed in the top eight at the Indoor or Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Indiana State had the most recognition on this year’s Scholar-Athlete team, as the Sycamores had eight men and 11 women earn honors.
