Three Valley Student-Athletes Named to 2010 Academic All-America Women's Track/Cross Country Team
Three Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field/Cross Country student-athletes have been named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, as announced Thursday. Student-athletes from three MVC schools earned the honor, including Indiana State's Kylie Hutson, Missouri State's Terry Phillips and Southern Illinois' Toni Whitfield.

Hutson Named One of The Final Ten Candidates For the Bowerman Award
Indiana State senior Kylie Hutson was named to The Bowerman Final Ten list which The Bowerman Women's Watch Committee announced in conjunction with the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) yesterday. Hutson is one of ten women student-athletes that will be considered for the Bowerman in 2010.

Valley Earns 11 All-American Honors at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
This past weekend, the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships were held in Eugene, Oregon. A total of 523 awards will be presented to the 428 individuals as a result of a national top-eight finish in this past weekend's NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships. NCAA Track & Field Championship Recap
The 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships wrapped up on Saturday, June 12, after four days of competition. The Southern Illinois women's track and field team finished tied for ninth in the country after a strong showing. The Salukis scored 26 points to tie with Oklahoma. The Indiana State women's track and field team finished tied for 20th with Baylor, Alabama and Florida State.

Indiana State senior Kylie Hutson won her second straight NCAA Outdoor Championship in the women's pole vault on Friday, clearing 14' 7.25" (4.45 meters) to successfully defend her title and establish a new NCAA Championship Meet record.

Southern Illinois' Jeneva McCall Wins National Discus Title
Southern Illinois thrower Jeneva McCall won her first national title Thursday night at the 2010 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships hosted by Oregon. The sophomore threw 180' 4" (54.98m) in her third of six throws for the victory, earning her third All-America honor this season.

Kylie Hutson Named Great Lakes Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year

The student-athletes have been battling through wind and rain all season but it's been the student-athletes, not mother nature, who has had the last laugh by continuing to win events despite the weather. Todd McKown of Wichita State ran the fastest time by a Shocker in six years in the 110-meter hurdles. Indiana State's Major Clay went up against the No. 1 and No. 3 high jumpers in the nation.

National rankings are the name of the game and all four athletes of the week are well established in their winning ways. Indiana State's Michael Disher is ranked 21st in the nation after his performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase this weekend. Teammates Major Clay and Erica Moore earn athlete of the week honors for the third week this outdoor season. Clay soared to ninth in the nation in the high jump at the Indiana State Quadrangular. Moore's national rankings come in the 400-meter hurdles and 800-meter run.

Jon DeGrave of Drake beat out the competition at the Jim Duncan Invitational in order to come out on top in the 400-meter hurdles. Wichita State's Trent Mazanec's javelin throw ranks him first in the Valley and seventh in the nation. Indiana State's Erica Moore receives the Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week for her performance in the 400-meter hurdle event at the Sea Ray Relays. Fellow Sycamore Lauren Martin leaped to the top of the performance lists and now sits at first in the Valley and fifth nationally.

Michael Disher of Indiana State set a new personal-best time in the 5,000-meter at the EIU Invitational. Tim Glover has made a name for himself in his first collegiate meet with his performance in the javelin, ranking him fifth in the nation.
