Nine Selected to Capital One Academic All-District Teams
Nine softball student-athletes were named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Softball Teams as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday. The Academic All District ® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools. First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month. Danielle Glosson, Cristina Trapani and Mallory Duran from Southern Illinois all made the first-team in District 5. Joining them on the first-team is Bradley's Kate Singler and Brittany Fairbairn. Megan Warner from Illinois State and Jen Stahlhut from Evansville take honors on the second-team in District 5. Drake had two honorees on the first-team in District 7 in Brynne Dordel and Erin Mollohan.
