Indiana State's Wiedie Suspended for Remainder of Season

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State University Director of Athletics Ron Prettyman has announced today (February 9) that Head Women's Basketball Coach Jim Wiedie has been suspended for the remainder of the season, effective immediately. The current assistant coaches will handle the day to day operations of the program.

"This was a difficult decision that needed to be made for the welfare of our program and our student athletes," said Prettyman. "We wish Jim Wiedie well as he pursues other opportunities, and thank him for his years of service to Sycamore Athletics and the women's basketball program."

Wiedie was in his 10th season at the helm of the Sycamore program. The Sycamores are 11-10 overall this season and 2-8 in Missouri Valley Conference play. ISU will host Missouri State on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Hulman Center.

Practice will be closed to the media and public for the remainder of the week. No further comment from the Athletic Department will be made at this time.
