Illinois State avenged its only Missouri Valley Conference loss to date and set an all-time school attendance mark in its 69-48 win over Indiana State.  Maggie Krick and Nicolle Lewis posted double-doubles as the Redbirds opened up a 17-point halftime lead.  Bradley built a huge lead at Evansville only to see the Purple Aces pull within four points before the Braves stopped the rally and held on for an 80-68 win.  Sonya Harris recorded a double-double for the Braves and Skye Johnson dished out eight assists.  Southern Illinois put the defensive clamps on UNI, holding the Panthers to 25 percent shooting in the first half and 30 percent for the game in the 58-40 home win.  Jasmine Gibson swiped three of the eight SIU steals and tied for team-high scoring honors with Alex Hart (11 points).    

Illinois State 69, Indiana State 48

NORMAL, Ill. - In front of a Redbird Arena-record crowd of 4,627 (record for an Illinois State women's basketball game), junior guard Maggie Krick and junior center Nicolle Lewis each recorded double-doubles to lead Illinois State past Indiana State, 69-48, Saturday afternoon in Missouri Valley Conference action on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.  The double-doubles by Lewis and Krick marked the first time this season that Illinois State has produced multiple double-doubles in the same game. The double-doubles were the 10th and 11th, respectively, for Illinois State (18-4, 9-1 Missouri Valley Conference) this season.

Bradley 80, Evansville 68

EVANSVILLE – Bradley led by as many as 24 points, but Evansville used a 20-5 run to claw back into the game and eventually pulled to within four points before the Braves held on to top the Purple Aces 80-68 Saturday at Roberts Stadium. The Braves (16-6 overall, 7-4 MVC) dominated the first half and built a 45-27 lead at the break. Bradley hit 6-of-7 shots to open the second and extended the lead to 24 points (60-36) with 15:14 remaining in the game, when the Braves went cold from the field. Bradley went 2-for-8 with six turnovers over the next over the next 8:20 and Evansville (9-13 overall, 2-9 MVC) used a 20-5 run to cut the Braves lead to single digits (65-56).

Southern Illinois 58, UNI 40

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois (7-13, 3-8) women's basketball team held Northern Iowa's (7-14, 5-6) offense to its lowest point-total of the season, taking down the Panthers, 58-40, in Missouri Valley Conference play at SIU Arena Saturday afternoon. The Salukis forced five turnovers and held the Panthers scoreless from the field for nearly the first eight minutes of the game. UNI's first four points of the contest came on free throws.
