WBB: Creighton, Drake Win Fifth-Straight

Drake outscored visiting Bradley 38-22 in the second half to turn a four point halftime lead into an emphatic 20-point win over the upstart Braves.  Jordann Plummer scored 20 for Drake, which won its fifth-straight.  Creighton ran out to a 17-point halftime lead over UNI, in its 62-44 win, also its fifth-straight.  With the wins, Creighton and Drake move to 5-2 in MVC play and drop Bradley and UNI to 4-2.

OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton women's basketball team never trailed in a 62-44 victory over Northern Iowa on Friday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The win was the Bluejays’ (10-8, 5-2 MVC) fifth straight triumph, their longest win streak since 2004-05, and kept them a half game behind Valley leaders Illinois State and Indiana State in the Missouri Valley Conference standings.

DES MOINES, IOWA -- Guards Jordann Plummer (St. Louis, Mo./Cardinal Ritter) and Brittnye McSparron (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) combined for 35 points, while the Drake women's basketball team also relied on a stifling defense, to post its fifth straight Missouri Valley Conference victory with a 71-51 decision past Bradley Friday night.
