Dubler, Fleming Take Player/Pitcher Honors; Weekly MVC Baseball Notebook

MVC Player of the Week

Kevin Dubler, Jr., C; Downers Grove, Ill.

Dubler caught fire at the Austin Peay Invitational, batting .571 with eight hits (four doubles), six runs scored, two home runs and seven RBI to lead the Redbirds to two wins and an all-tournament team selection. Dubler, who collected 18 total bases to go along with a remarkable 1.286 slugging percentage, had his most impressive day Saturday versus Valparaiso. The Downers Grove, Ill., native tallied a career-high four hits, including a double and a two-run home run, and recorded four RBI, one shy of tying his career-high.

MVC Pitcher of the Week

Tyler Fleming, Jr., RHP; Enid, Okla.

Fleming made two relief appearances last week and pitched eight shutout innings. He allowed just four hits, while walking one and striking out five. Against Emporia State, he pitched 2.1 shutout innings with three strikeouts and at No. 10 Long Beach State, he pitched 5.2 shutout innings with two strikeouts.
