Valley Announces Staff Hirings, Promotion

 ST. LOUIS -- Missouri Valley Conference Commissioner Doug Elgin has announced the hiring of Brock Ascher and Lori Brutton and a promotion for Jeremiah Ingram.  Ascher joins the Valley as a media relations assistant, while Brutton is an assistant to the Chief Financial Officer.  Meanwhile, Ingram has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Communications.

 Ascher comes to the MVC staff after serving the past four-plus years in the sports information office at the University of Northern Iowa.  At UNI, he had served as the primary media relations contact for baseball, softball, and women’s soccer.   At the MVC, he’ll be the league’s primary contact for baseball, men’s and women’s tennis, and swimming/diving.  He’s a December 2007 graduate of UNI.

 Brutton has joined the MVC staff as Assistant to the CFO.  Her primary duties will include all monthly accounting activities and other assignments.  Brutton has extensive non-profit accounting experience, most recently with The American Optometric Association and previously with the Moolah Shriners.  She holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Lindenwood University.

 In addition to the staff hirings of Ascher and Brutton, Elgin announced a promotion for Jeremiah Ingram.  Ingram is in his second season at the Valley and has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Communications and has assumed primary media relations duties for women’s basketball.   A 2004 graduate of Bradley, Ingram double majored, receiving a bachelor of science degree in marketing and communications.
