2007 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship Selections Announced; Valley Goes 20-Deep
The 86th-annual NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship will take place June 6-9 (Wed.-Sat.), in Sacramento, Calif., at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex, co-hosted by Sacramento State University and the Sacramento Sports Commission. Twenty Valley athletes, including a relay team, will compete for national championships and All-American status in 20 events throughout the championship.

Twelve Valley Athletes Earn Automatic Berths to NCAA Track & Field Championship
An even dozen individual athletes earned automatic spots in the 2007 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship with top-five finishes at their respective regional meets. MVC Championship This Weekend; Weekly Track & Field Notebook
The 2007 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship is set to take place May 11-13, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa and the coaches have voted Wichita State's women and UNI's men as favorites in the pre-championship poll. UNI's men and women enter the championship holding national rankings in the TrackWire top-25, the men are 18th and the women 23rd.

The world's best women's weight thrower officially became the best in the collegiate world at the NCAA Championship as Brittany Riley of Southern Illinois completed the best series of throws in history, culminating in 25.56m (83-10.25) toss, to break her own world record and claim the NCAA title. Northern Iowa's men claimed All-American honors in five events, including a pair of bronze medal performances, as they equaled the conference's best-ever finish at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship with a ninth-place showing in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

Southern Illinois' women's team holds steady in a tie for No. 21 in the nation in the latest version of the women's indoor track & field Trackwire 25 while UNI's men fell out of a tie for 19th and landed in a tie for 23rd. Conversely, UNI improved two spots in the latest USTFCCCA poll, checking in at No. 16 this week.

Southern Illinois' Brittany Riley recorded a monumental throw on the first day of the Saluki Booster in Carbondale, Ill., winning the weight throw with a U.S. collegian, facility and school record toss of 77-05.50. Drake Legend and MVC Hall of Famer Bob Ehrhart Dies
Former Drake Relays director and MVC Hall of Famer Bob Ehrhart, 75, died from cancer at his West Des Moines home Sunday. Funeral services will be held Thursday 2 p.m. at the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Des Moines.
