Lehman, Canada Earn 2005 Post-Graduate Scholarships
Nicole Lehman of Southwest Missouri State University and Brad Canada from Bradley University have been named 2005 Missouri Valley Conference female and male postgraduate scholarship winners, respectively, commissioner Doug Elgin has announced. The Missouri Valley Conference Faculty Athletics Representatives Committee voted to award postgraduate scholarships to both Lehman and Canada, due to their exemplary academic and athletic performances. Both student-athletes will receive a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship from the Conference.

Wichita State Claims 2004-05 All-Sports Trophy
For the second-straight season, Wichita State University has captured the Missouri Valley Conference All-Sports Trophy. The Shockers claimed two Valley championships in 2004-05 (volleyball and women?s outdoor track & field) and finished in the upper division of 13 of 15 Valley sports in which they sponsor. Notably, Wichita State had second-place finishes in men?s basketball, women?s indoor track & field, men?s golf, men?s tennis, softball, baseball, and men?s outdoor track & field.

MVC Inititates Team Handshake At Events
The Missouri Valley Conference will integrate an orchestrated handshake between competing teams prior to all conference basketball games, as well as all of its team sports, commissioner Doug Elgin has announced.
