ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference announced today that ESPN has made its selections for the final MVC regular-season women’s basketball production for The Valley on ESPN3.
The Bradley at Drake women’s basketball game on Friday, February 23 will be the featured broadcast on The Valley on ESPN3.
Drake (16-7, 11-0 MVC), the top team in the MVC, will play host to Bradley (11-11, 5-6 MVC) in a 7 PM (CT) contest at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Drake took the first meeting between the two schools on January 28 when the Bulldogs pulled out an 84-75 win in Peoria as five different players scored in double figures for the league-leaders.
The selection of this game marks the fourth year that ESPN has used a “Wildcard” process to determine one of its MVC women’s basketball productions for The Valley on ESPN3.
Using the Wildcard Weekend model, the league, through its television partners ESPN, CBS Sports Network, FOX Sports Midwest and NBC Sports Chicago, reserves clearance windows for late February and March dates in the fall of each academic year and waits until the midpoint of the men’s and women’s basketball seasons to determine its final regular-season telecasts.
