Bradley and Creighton Featured on Fox Soccer Channel
As part of an agreement between the NSCAA and Fox Soccer Channel, the Missouri Valley Conference defending regular-season co-champs -- Bradley and Creighton -- will face each other in a nationally televised match on Fox Soccer Channel on Oct. 10. Soccer fans will soon have plenty of top-notch NCAA Division I intercollegiate men and women’s action to watch on Fox Soccer Channel. Under an on-going agreement with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), Fox Soccer Channel’s live and exclusive NSCAA College Match of the Week coverage will include eight women’s matches played on Thursdays and nine men’s matches on Fridays. There will also be bonus coverage of three men’s matches played on Wednesday evenings throughout the season. The 20-game telecast schedule announced today features eight women’s and 13 men’s teams ranked in the NSCAA/adidas® pre-season Top-25 poll. Women’s action kicks off on America’s soccer network Thursday, September 6 with a showdown between 16th-ranked Connecticut and No. 7 Penn State at 8:00 p.m. ET. Men’s action gets underway Friday, September 14 with Tulsa hosting Virginia Tech at 8:00 p.m. ET. Later in the season, top-ranked and defending NCAA men’s champion UC Santa Barbara faces UC Irvine on Wednesday, October 3 at 11:00 p.m. ET, while preseason No. 3 Wake Forest battles fifth-ranked Virginia in Fox Soccer Channel’s final NSCAA College Match of the Week telecast on Friday, Nov. 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET. "We’re delighted to once again be the exclusive carrier of the best in live men’s and women’s college soccer,” said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general manager of Fox Soccer Channel. "Our NSCAA College Match of the Week is the perfect complement to Fox Soccer Channel’s year-round coverage of top international and domestic soccer competitions.” The brightest stars in the collegiate game will have a chance to shine this season on Fox Soccer Channel. A total of 27 players 14 women and 13 men scheduled to appear on NSCAA College Match of the Week telecasts were recently named to the 2007 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List. Presented annually to the top NCAA Division I male and female players in the country, the two MAC Hermann Trophy winners are selected by a vote of current Division I NSCAA member coaches. Play-by-play responsibilities will be shared throughout the season by a quintet of accomplished broadcasters: Steve Bell Voice of United Soccer Leagues telecasts on Fox Soccer Channel “The NSCAA is proud to work with Fox Soccer Channel to showcase some of the nation’s best college teams for the third consecutive season,” said NSCAA President Steve Malone. “This schedule will highlight some of the outstanding regional rivalries that make intercollegiate soccer so exciting.” Santa Barbara, California-based Cultural Videos and Sports Communications is returning for a third season to coordinate the production of all men’s and women's NSCAA matches on Fox Soccer Channel. Cultural Videos Founder David Bolton, who also produces USL and MLS coverage on Fox Soccer Channel, will again serve as director/producer of the FSC college package.
