In the 2007 State Farm MVC Men's Soccer Championship, Bradley's Stephen Brust scored in the 89th minute to lift Bradley to its first State Farm MVC Tournament title as the Braves beat Creighton, 1-0, to earn the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Teddy Anderson of Bradley earned tournament MVP honors.
The 2007 State Farm MVC Men's Soccer Championship was Nov. 14, 16, 18, in Omaha, Neb. Creighton University was the host school for the championship, and all games were played at Morrison Stadium. Six of the league's seven teams qualified for the championship, whose winner earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Creighton beat Bradley in overtime in 2006 to claim the league's tournament title. The State Farm MVC Tournament Championship will are live on FSN Midwest, on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. Veteran broadcasters Sean Wheelock and Ty Keough will call the action. All seven Valley teams have been to the league tournament previously. Creighton has the best success in previous tournaments, going 26-5-1 in 15 previous visits, with 10 titles. Of the league’s current seven members, only Creighton (10 times), Evansville (1996) and Missouri State (1999) have won a tournament crown. Notably, only four teams (of 12) that have hosted the State Farm MVC Championship have won the tournament in the previous 16 years (four were played at a neutral site in St. Louis). In fact, the first four tournaments were won by the host, and the host has not won the title since 1994. The host has played in the championship game 10 times (in 12 campus-site tournaments).
