Junior Tyler Gann (Houston, Texas) opened the Spring season with his most impressive showing of 2011-12, placing fourth at the Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, and is this week's Missouri Valley Conference golfer of the week.

The par-71, 6,765-yard Oak Hills Country Club proved to be to the junior’s liking as he turned in a 1-under 212 (70-71-71). Gann’s effort led Wichita State to a 6th-place finish in a 15-team field that included six schools (in addition to the Shockers) nationally ranked in the Top 50. It was the fourth Top 10 finish of Gann’s career and his 212 mark set a new personal 54-hole tournament low.
