This week's Missouri Valley Conference golfers of the week include Wichita State's Gretchen Huhnerkoch and Bradley's Danny Marsin.
WOMEN'S RECAPS
In their final fall tournament, the Wichita State Shockers placed fourth with a 54-hole score of 945 at the 2011 Fighting Camel Classic hosted by Campbell University. Junior Gretchen Huhnerkoch was the top individual finisher for the Shockers as she finished tied for sixth with a final score of 231. Huhnerkoch, from Burnsville, Minn., had an impressive fall for Wichita State with three top-10 finishes, which included a runner-up finish at the Hoosier Invitational. Campbell was the overall team winner of the tournament with a 54-hole score of 902, which is the tournament's new record. Medalist Amy Anderson of North Dakota State set tournament records for low round with a 5-under-par 67 in the third round and an individual 54-hole score of 215.

The Missouri State women's golf team moved up two spots in Tuesday's (Nov. 1) final round to finish 11th at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. Led by even-par 72's from Catherine Dolan and Megan Thompson, the Bears carded 298 to go with 306-306 the first two rounds and finished with 910, good for 11th of 14 teams in their final tournament of the fall. Thompson led the Bears for the tournament, tying for 32nd after shooting 76-77-72--225, while Dolan was a shot back in a tie for 37th with 77-77-72--226.

MEN'S RECAPS
Creighton and Bradley completed their fall schedules by competing in the 21-team field at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in Kiawah, S.C., earlier this week. Freshman Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) turned the first top-20 finish of his career to help lead the Bradley men’s golf team at the event. Masrin opened the three-day event with a season-best score of 72 and finished 20th in the field with a season-best 54-hole total of 225. He carded rounds of 77 and 76 in the final two rounds of play as he helped Bradley tie for seventh place in the largest tournament field BU has faced since April 1995.
