This week's Missouri Valley Conference golfers of the week are Southern Illinois' Jake Erickson and Wichita State's Daniela Rugeles.
MEN'S RECAP
Jake Erickson fell one stroke short of winning his third tournament of the season and led Southern Illinois to a second-place finish at the Big Blue Intercollegiate. Southern made up 11 strokes in the final round to tie with Tennessee Tech for second in the tournament. Erickson and Jeffrey Miller finished in the top five individually. Erickson, Brandon Cauldwell and Richie Williams all made eagles. Erickson's final-round 68 tied for the fourth lowest final-round score in school history. It was also his fourth round in the 60s this year, more than anyone on the roster. His second-place finish was his third top-two finish on the season and was the fifth straight tournament he has been the top finisher for SIU.
