The 2010 State Farm MVC Cross Country Championship concluded with the pre-championship poll favorites, Wichita State on the women's side and Indiana State for the men, winning the gold. Finishing in first-place for the women was Tonya Nero of Wichita State, earning Women's All-Conference Athlete of the Year. Nero started out the race strong and broke away from the pack finishing in 17:25.34, 13.34 seconds ahead of the next finisher. Allison Malone of Indiana State came in second place with Missouri State's Leah Nichols right behind her. Southern Illinois' Emily Toennies and Megan Hoelscher round out the top-five for the women. Wichita State's coach, Kirk Hunter, earned Women's Coach of the Year in his first season with the Shockers. Dan Dunbar of Southern Illinois took a commanding lead and never gave it up, winning the 2010 State Farm MVC Championship. Dunbar, the 2010 Men's All-Conference Athlete of the Year, crossed the line in 24:29.38. Indiana State took second through fifth-place in Michael Disher, Al Escalara, Craig Padgett and Jeremiah Vaughan.
