Thirteen MVC Baseball Players Selected in MLB Draft

A total of 13 Missouri Valley Conference student-athletes had their names called at the annual Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft this week. Missouri State's Pierce Johnson was the top pick for the league in the Comp Round with the 43rd overall pick by the Chicago Cubs.

Bradley, Creighton, Evansville, Indiana State, Missouri State and Southern Illinois each had two players drafted. Illinois State and Wichita State both had one player selected.

Under the terms of Major League Baseball's new collective bargaining agreement, professional clubs must sign a drafted player by July 13, or the rights to that player are lost and may re-enter the draft in 2013. Underclassmen have the option to return to their respective schools.

Listed below are the 13 Missouri Valley Conference student-athletes that were selected in the 2012 MLB Draft.  Click on the name of each player for more detailed information.
