Wichita State's Cooper Named Academic All-American
WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State baseball student-athlete Jordan Cooper has been named a second team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American.  Cooper, a sophomore pitcher from Berryton, Kan., has a 3.65 GPA in criminal justice.

So far in 2010, Cooper is 9-2 with a 1.59 ERA as the Shockers' ace.  He has pitched four complete games and has 87 strikeouts in 96.1 innings.  He earned first team all-Valley honors as well as Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher-of-the-Year.

Cooper is the first Shocker to be named an Academic All-American since Rob Musgrave in 2008.  He is also the 27th WSU baseball student-athlete to be named an Academic All-American, the third-most in NCAA Division I baseball history behind Notre Dame (29) and Bucknell (28).
