Gabe Bauer of Evansville and Zach Daeges of Creighton top the voting for the first-team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Baseball squad, determined by a vote of league sports information directors.

Both Bauer and Daeges were unanimous first-team picks in 2006 while this is Daeges' second-straight first-team honor.

Other repeat selections include Kevin Koski of Southern Illinois, Adam Rogers of Evansville and Matt Weglarz of Missouri State. The Aces boast the most first-team representatives.

Joining the rest of the unit on the first team are Nevin Ashley and Jake Eigsti of Indiana State; Ryan Eigsti of Bradley; Grant Gerrard of Southern Illinois; Chris Krawczyk of Missouri State; Robbie Minor and Kasey Wahl of Evansville; and Rob Musgrave and Kenny Waddell of Wichita State.

There are a total of 17 honorable mention choices, and in all, 31 Missouri Valley Conference baseball student-athletes received recognition for their athletic and academic achievement.
