Eric Aguilera of Illinois State and Kimsue Grant of Missouri State have been selected Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Week, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced today. Aguilera and Grant were honored for their performances during the period of May 6-12.

Commissioner Doug Elgin has announced a list of dates and sites for the various Missouri Valley Conference sports championships for the 2013-14 athletic season. All site awards are subject to ratification at the Missouri Valley Conference Presidents’ Council meeting, which takes place May 28.

With just one weekend remaining in the regular season schedule, Illinois State (13-5 MVC) and Wichita State (15-6 MVC) sit atop the league standings. The Redbirds can lock up the No. 1 seed for next week's MVC Baseball Championship with a sweep at SIU this weekend, but the Shockers will earn the No. 1 seed if Illinois State falls in at least one game this weekend.
