This week's Missouri Valley Football Conference players of the week are Brandon Summers of Youngstown State, Quentin Scott of UNI, Tyrel Kool of South Dakota State and Austin Richard of North Dakota State.

Offense
QB Brandon Summers, Youngstown State, 6-2, 200, Sr., Southfield (Mich.) High
Summers passed for a season-high 346 yards completing 25-of-38 passes helping YSU to a season-best 472 yards of total offense in a 30-18 win over Illinois State. He had two touchdown passes in the second half, 55 yards to Dominique Barnes and eight to Donald Jones. He had five completions of 27 yards or more in the win and did not throw an interception for the first time in eight games. He became just the second quarterback in school history with three 300-yard passing games in a career. He was one yard shy of his career high, which he set last season at Illinois State.

Defense
FS Quentin Scott, UNI, 6-5, 224, Sr., Little Rock (Ark.) Des Moines North High
Scott intercepted two passes and returned the second one 45 yards for a touchdown in leading the UNI Panthers to a 34-0 shutout win over the Western Illinois Leathernecks. Scott's first interception came on a flea-flicker attempt from WIU quarterback Wil Lunt. The second intercept came with 13:20 in the game and capped the scoring in the game. Scott helped the Panther defense limit the Leathernecks to 112 yards of total offense, including only 31 yards in the second half.

Special Teams
KR Tyrel Kool, South Dakota State, 5-10, 185, Fr., Yankton (S.D.) High
Kool returned two kickoffs 118 yards (56-yard average), including a season- and career-long 84-yarder in SDSU's 16-13 defeat at Minnesota. The Jackrabbit return teams excelled against the Football Bowl Subdivision Golden Gophers, racking up 146 yards on four kickoff returns (36.5 avg.) and 68 yards on five punt returns (13.6 avg.).

Offensive Lineman
C Austin Richard, North Dakota State, 6-1 1/2, 319, Fargo, N.D. (South H.S.)
North Dakota State sophomore center Austin Richard graded out at 98 percent, had nine knockdowns and allowed no sacks pressures in the Bison 56-17 win at Indiana State on Nov. 14. The Bison rushed for 294 yards and had 464 yards of total offense against the Sycamores. He opened holes for Pat Paschall, the leading rusher in NCAA Division I FCS, who rushed 16 times for 129 yards and a career-high four TDs. Richard protected quarterback Jose Mohler, who completed 10 of 12 passes to seven different receivers for 170 yards and two TDs.
