ST. LOUIS - Creighton's Megan Neuvirth and Missouri State's Casey Garrison each became two-time first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selections, duplicating last season's honors, as they headline a list of six players named to the all-conference first-team unit, the league office announced Wednesday.  Neuvirth was the 2009 Defensive Player of the Year and Garrison was last season's Freshman of the Year.

Joining Neuvirth and Garrison on the first team is Creighton junior Sam Schuett, a pair of Illinois State teammates -- seniors Ashleen Bracey and Maggie Krick -- and UNI sophomore Jacqui Kalin.  Krick is a three-time all-MVC selection after earning second team honors as a junior and honorable mention accolades as a sophomore.

Bradley's Sonya Harris and Illinois State's Nicolle Lewis have earned second team honors in back-to-back seasons.  They are joined by two-time selections Jordann Plummer of Drake and Kelsey Luna of Indiana State, as well as first-time selections in Missouri State sophomore Jaleshia Roberson and senior Stephany Neptune of Southern Illinois.

Illinois State leads the way with two players on the MVC All-Defensive Team, with Bracey and Lewis receiving honors.  Harris and Neuvirth, both two-time selections, and Garrison hold down the other three spots on the defensive unit.

Five schools are also represented on the MVC All-Freshman Team.  Bradley's Katie Yohn, Indiana State's Taylor Whitley, Christiana Shorter of Missouri State, Teri Oliver of Southern Illinois and Wichita State's Jessica Diamond were tabbed to the five person rookie team.

Missouri Valley Conference specialty awards for player, newcomer, freshman and defensive player of the year will be announced, in addition to the league's coach of the year, at an awards ceremony in between Games 1 and 2 of the State Farm MVC Tournament on Thursday, March 11, at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
