Four Missouri Valley Conference soccer student-athletes have been selected to the ESPN the Magazine CoSIDA All-America Team, as announced Wednesday.  Drake's Brian Wurst was named to the first-team, Drake's Matt Kuhn and Evansville's Mike Luttrull earned second-team honors and Drake's Calvin Clark earned third-team All-America plaudits.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.  Nominated athletes must also have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.

First-Team - Brian Wurst, Drake, Sr., D, 4.0 GPA, Management
A national-best three Drake student-athletes were named to CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America teams, headlined by senior Brian Wurst, who became the first-ever Bulldog to earn first-team Academic All-America honors in school history.  Joining him on the second and third teams was junior Matt Kuhn and senior Calvin Clark, respectively.  The Bulldogs three selections marked the most of any school in the country in the university division (Division I), besting Akron and South Carolina, who garnered two selections each.  The trio represent the first Bulldogs to be honored since Adam Zenor captured third team honors in 2004 and Matt Sahag second team accolades in 2002.

A management major, Wurst maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA.  He has started all 21 games at his defender position for the Bulldogs, who have recorded seven shutouts this season.

Second-Team - Matt Kuhn, Drake, Jr., MF, 4.0 GPA, Accounting
An accounting major, Kuhn owns a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.  He has started all 21 games for Drake and leads the team in assists (7) and game-winning goals (2).

Second-Team - Mike Luttrull, Evansville, Jr., F, 3.83 GPA, Accounting
Luttrull is an accounting major with a 3.82 grade point average.  He becomes the 42nd University of Evansville athlete chosen for one of the official Academic All-America teams, dating back to 1972.  Luttrull is the fourth men's soccer player at UE to earn the Academic All-America distinction, joining Steve Church in 1991 and 1992, Pedro Delgado in 1998 and 1999, and Jason Pele in 2005 and 2006.

Luttrull helped lead the Purple Aces to their fourth consecutive winning season, and to the championship match of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.  Luttrull scored UE's goal in Sunday's 2-1 tournament championship loss to Drake, and was named UE's Player of the Game by Fox Sports.  Luttrull scored six goals and added one assist for 13 points this season, ranking him fourth in the MVC in goals and ninth in total points.  He will go into his senior year with 20 career goals, the 18th most in school history. Luttrull was chosen earlier this month as a second team all-MVC forward.  He was the Offensive Most Valuable Player at the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic in September.

Third-Team - Calvin Clark, Drake, Sr., D, 3.73 GPA, Corporate Finance
Majoring in corporate finance, Clark boasts a 3.73 GPA.  Starting all 21 games for Drake, Clark has recorded two goals and added an assist from his starting defender's slot.  He is an anchor of a Bulldog defensive unit that has posted seven shutouts.
