In a vote conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), a total of seven Missouri Valley Conference women's soccer student athletes have been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazaine Academic All-District Team.  Indiana State senior midfielder Erin Bianchi headlines the list as a first-team selection to District V.

Bianchi currently holds a perfect 4.0 GPA in Nursing.  Because Bianchi was selected on the All-District V First Team, she now moves on the voting stage for ESPN The Magazine's All-America selections.  Bianchi is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection from the Missouri Valley Conference, earning an honorable mention selection after her sophomore season and first team honors last year.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.  Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable).

ILLINOIS STATE
Redbird juniors Bethany Brown and Alyssa Schulz were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V Second Team, as announced Thursday by CoSIDA.

Brown holds a 4.00 grade-point-average in criminal justice and helped the Redbirds go undefeated at home this season. Brown's assist to Jessica Carlson won the game against Northern Illinois (Sept. 6). The Vernon Hills, Ill., native also helped the Redbird defense to six shutouts on the season.

Schulz holds a 3.89 GPA in elementary education and finished the regular season with six goals and led the team in assists with five. The Maple Grove, Minn., native was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week and scored a career-high two goals against Indiana State (Oct. 3).

CREIGHTON
Creighton had more student-athletes make the team than any other in the MVC, as three Bluejays represent the MVC on the District VII second-team unit. Junior midfield Claire Zach holds a 3.85 in biology, junior defender Eden Hingwing has a 3.50 in psychology, while senior forward Kyla Hoskins has a 3.44 in exercise science / pre-med.

Hoskins has started every match for the Bluejays, notching four goals and two assists for 10 points.  She is tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals.  Zach has also started all 19 contests for the Bluejays, scoring twice.  And Hingwing also has started every match for Creighton, scoring two times.

DRAKE
Melissa Lewis (Edina, Minn./Edina) was been tabbed as a second team CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America all-district VII selection.  An advertising account management and marketing major, Lewis maintains a 3.80 cumulative grade point average.

Lewis has started all 20 games for Drake, registering one goal and an assist.  She is a two-time All-MVC honorable mention selection and a first team All-MVC Scholar-Athlete team honoree in 2008.
